ok i am having some issues with iDVD.
I am using a single sided DVD, and when i try to use an AVI which is 111mins long it tells me it tis too big and i should change the quality. It is already at the lowest of the only 3 options i get.

Any ideas how i can get around this?

I come up against this, sometimes it can be sidestpped by going for the simplext menu,

However I mostly use Visualhub - but it has no fancy menus.

If you want fancy menus and much more control over the disk... consider Toast.

Not sure if you can get it separately from the Creative Suite but I use Adobe Encore for my DVD authoring needs. It's great in that it's as intuitive as the rest of the Adobe software and it's pretty powerful.

Gives you plenty of control and whatnot. As I say though, I'm not sure if they sell it separately.

I've just done my first DVD with iDVD, cracking program!

However, it took a good 4 hours to encode and burn the movie. Is that normal? The file was originally a .mov (114mins).

Right oh. Doesn't hurt to stick it in a space and forget about it, don't notice it slowing down the mac anyway :)
