IE random popups (full screen)

mmm this is really annoying me no.. i've recently been getting these really annoying popups which mainly come up in IE7 (I use firefox) though, I do sometimes get a few in a new tab in firefox.

They usually go to something like "Wid Antivirus pro" or something but i'll usually get a few adverts from online decent shops.. i cant really remember which ones.

i've noticed a huge performance decrease as well.... when windows is starting up it'll stay on "Windows is starting up..." for about 5 secs (usually is practially no time whatsoever) desktop icons etc take longer to come up and general program performance is worse.

I've used so many anti-spyware + anti-virus progs but to no avail.... im kinda clueless now.. atm, im using: Zone alarm, Avast free as antivirs + firewall ive also used Hijackthis and Spybot - Search & Destroy and LOTS of others on download.com

They only came up with small threats tho I did notice a few spywayre looking progs up.

So, anyone got any ideas?

disable system restore
download windows defender and nod32trial -disable your current av for the moment..

get updates for the above two programs and run full scans

use ccleaner http://www.ccleaner.com/download/downloadpage.aspx?f=3 to remove temp files first to speed up the scans
