Anyone else having this issue?

Yes like hijacking the Bing hook to Google net. Google do this all the time they feel threatened. I suppose its like when MS was number 1 and was primary owner of the IE but since the break up it is now Browser wars all over again. You have to go into scripting to avoid a lot these days.

Actually reading, it looks like Google made some small "changes" that where causing this for no real reason.

yes was working fine till a day or so ago and I have been using win 8.1 and IE11 for months so nothing to do with win 8.1/IE11 like that link blames.

quick to blame win 8.1, funny how it was fine till the win 8.1 launch, google change something at the same time to make it look like its the win 8.1/IE11 update .
now I didn't get the win 8.1 update on the 18th as I been using the 8.1 rtm since it came out months ago and google and IE11 where fine till the 18th, funny that lol

Same problem here caused by the new Google login. Signing out of Gmail, YouTube and Chrome sorted it out for me. In on all of those now and it's fine.

It appears that Google’s search engine has somehow been added to IE11′s Compatibility View list.

Microsoft says the issue has been fixed. “It appears Google made some changes to its search engine that temporarily impacted the way search results rendered for some browsers,” a Microsoft spokesperson told TNW. “We have already made the necessary adjustments to ensure customers using Internet Explorer are not impacted.”

So it should be ok now but if not then go to Compatibility View Settings and uncheck 'Use Microsoft compatibility lists'.
