IE7 flicker issue - anyone solved this?

Having trouble with IE7 using Vista HP on Laptop. Flash images are flickering all the time and even the page is flickering. Lots of other users having same problems if you look at forums. A lot of people having problems are using X300 Ati card. I have tried all the fixes suggested, roll back drivers, install latest Ati Catalyst Drivers, update Adobe Flash etc. all to no avail. Firefox works fine as it does for all other users experiencing same problems.

Anyone found a solution yet. P.S. Desktops seem fine?

Refresh rate?

I know some websites with a kind of background that alternates in a lined pattern, when scrolling has an annoying "flicker".

This wasn't there on my old CRT at 100hz, but on my LCD that is limited to 60hz its bloody irritating.

Dunno maybe try changing the refresh rate if possible, long shot....but you never know
