IE7 not playing flash videos

IE7 has just stopped playing any flash videos on websites, it just says i need to install flash player to use these websites(ie you tube etc).
i install the player but it still wont play and just keeps asking me to install the player even though the website say it installed ok and shows the flash logo, so you know its installed, but when you try and play anything it still says i need to install the flash player :confused:

i haven't changed any setting to stop flash loading and i have reinstalled IE7 but its still wont play them.
any ideas as to the problem

I've had this problem in the past. It really gripped my **** for ages!
It was down to ActiveX controls in IE.
For some reason some of the options changed to "Disabled" as opposed to "Enabled" or "prompt." Just changed them back and all was fine.

have checked and everything is "Enabled" as far as i can see

i have the same problem ish

youtube is fine

i just cant play direct links to flash games/movies

like the flash game posted in GD earlyer this week wouldnt show

but i can watch .swf files stored on my hdd with no problem

Run the uninstall_flash_player.exe from here

Then go to adobe.com and install the latest flash.
