IE7 why is it so awful ?

I am not sure what the thread starter is complaining about but I have come across something that might be a bug in the 64 bit version tat comes with Vista. If I click a link which is a mail to link, IE r3espinds by creating a large number of new windows of itself; so many that clicking on the close button top right can take a whole minute to clear. I have properly set up default programmes to deal with mail; Thunderbird of course; but this seems not to happen.

Otherwise, I would have thought that IE 64 bit was pretty good, though I am as yet unsure if it is as 'safe' as Firefox, my default browser. I dislike all the adverts on web pages and Firefox delivers clear pages.

i think he means he prefers the older xp style of things where you have file/edit/view menus etc...

i still aint got comfy with all the vista looking things (still on xp here but have the new ie, office etc)

dont really know if theres a way, in live messenger you can choose to view classic menus maybe there is such an option in the other vista-style apps?

Classic menus are available by right-clicking a toolbar in IE7 and enabling "Menu Bar". I'd assume it was the same in Vista.

Thats right! I use them all the time. You dont always have to stick to the way Vista defaults. IE7 is far from awful, I find it better than Firefox. Crashes less often.
