just downloaded IE7 and noticed the txt is a little blury..is there a way to correct this problem?

Disable cleartype!

Also, what type of monitor are you using? CRT or TFT? What res? oh and any other details would be handy.

using tft 1280x1024 how do i turn cleartype off?

firefox is ok its just IE7

just tried ie7 and is consuming 70megs of memory compared to firefoxs 25megs !!!

The high memory usage is probably because it's a beta version?

It uses 0MB on my machine and will continue to so unless they redesign it

Try another 0 on the end of that. Firefox has major memory leak issues.

It does have well documented memory issues though. Mine regularly uses in excess of 100Mb.

I've been using IE7 Beta 2 at work for a short while and I really like it. Especially the little touches like 'shrink to fit' when printing off web pages.

The tabs work well most of the time and I've not encountered any sites which create problems.

Cleartype is a bit of a strange one though - you can download it for Windows from the MS site. This plug-in is better than IEs because you can fine tune it.

It's built into Windows XP, isn't it? Don't think you need to download it. I like Cleartype - I have it enabled in IE7 and in Windows. Think it looks far better.

The power toy plug-in from the MS site adds more in terms of configuration.
