IE8 download problem

Whenever I download anything in IE8 it reaches 99% or 100% in good time then freezes at that point for an eternity before finally copying the file to the directory. Can anyone suggest fault finding ideas or ways of stopping it hanging?

Rest of system is vista home premium 64 SP1 (updated) and Kaspersky AV, again updated. I doubt it is the antivirus as when I download in firefox it is quick with no freezes.

lol - I suppose Im due that.

What would you suggest using instead? I don't like the layout of firefox for everyday use for some reason. The only reason I keep it on the PC is because in the days of IE4 I was caught without an explorer when a virus got me!

Chrome

Try any of those and see which one you like or maybe take a look at the Firefox Addons to change the appearance/layout of Firefox to suit your needs.

If you have any add-ons for IE then disable them all and see if one of them is causing the problem.

If that doesn't work then try resetting IE to its orginal settings. You can do this in under: tools\internet options\advanced tab\reset, then close IE and try again.

Even if you don't like the layout it's still a much better browser, as stated above you can get 100s of themes.
