ie8 not saving username and password info?

Trying to use the autocomplete action to save usernames and passwords to a number of sites i frequent but nothing is happening im not getting the pop up to save passwords, ill give any info if you have any questions.

Go to tools > internet options > content > auto complete and check the settings from within here ensuring passwords etc is checked. If this makes no difference then click on the advanced tab (from within internet options also) and click reset.

One of these steps should force IE8 to prompt you again if you wish to save your password(s)
