Hi,

Just installed the RC, and have noticed that some fonts appear to have a fuzz to them.

Doesn't appear to bad on here, but very noticable on Google when search results are displayed.

Anyone have anyidea why this would be, and better still how to fix it?

Regards

Should be able to see it here: -

Try the autosync feature on your monitor. Otherwise it's probably just harsher anti-aliasing (it's got a special word in Windows I think, you can set the extent of it up in control panel iirc).

IE9 made my desktop widget fonts render fuzzy too - As it the IE9 BETA versions. Only solution was to uninstall it.

Others have had the same issue as well but webpages directly appeared fine strangely, for me anyway. Something to do with the direct2d and font rendering.

FF4 had similar issues and it was said MS need to fix the issue via an update.

Are you forcing AA on your GPU? IE9 takes advantage of hardware acceleration so it's entirely possible you're getting AA on the font rendering.

It's a known problem with the IE9 RC at the moment. I think it might be caused by the new CSS3 font specification. This is why it only appears on certain sites... Not all sites take advantage of CSS3 at the moment.

Apparently viewing pages in compatibilty mode fixes it. Otherwise you will have to wait for the final release of the browser. It is still in beta, after all.
