hello!
i am in the middle of modifying an old flight case to hold my new laptop.
i bought a standard female IEC socket ( like the one on your power supply ) and ive fitted it to my flight case. all is looking good. now comes the hard bit ( for me anyway)
i want to connect a standard surge protected socket multiplier (which will be living in the case full time ) which currently has a standard 3 pin wall socket on it at the moment.
now what i was planning to do was wire the adapter up to the female IEC socket, so when plugged in to a standard kettle lead through the female ICE socket on the outside of my case it will power the socket multiplier.
Simple you might think?
the thing i want to make sure is the wiring. There are 3 pins on the IEC socket... what wire goes where? Ground, + , - .
Wiring is not really my strong point! haha
thanks for any advise you can offer.
