Iexporer 7 update

Sorry have not updated my system because this is not the first time IE7 has surcumbed to weakness. Ever since then I have used Firefox, that I personally find better anyhow.

Question being is this update only required if you use IE7, or do I still need to do it?

PS I do not look at dodgy sites anyhow and from what I have read was a trogan on Chinese sites, initially written to steal peoples games passwords?

Should I update?

I think in cases like this, its more "why shouldn't I update?"

Just turn automatic updates on, and let it install what it wants to install, its not like it'll do any harm.

It's a HTPC only that connects to the net for the guidelisting downloads and want it as steamlined as possible as slight changes I have found screw up codecs and the like which is why I do not have automactic updates turned on. I use Linux on the laptop.

Do you use media center? If so, I believe that uses the IE engine for its download of guide content.

I do will update now, thought it was direct as it does not open IE7, just shows an icon by the clock.
