If a game doesnt support xfire am i better of with a single 2 gb card?

I play an online game called ran online but it seems like it doesnt suppprt xfire. It plays ok for me until like 200 characters are populated in one area which decreases my frame rate to a very little amount. So am i better of having a 2 gig card rather than xfire?

The first thing you need to do is to make sure to overclock your CPU to at least 4GHz.

I know that WOW 1920x1200 can easily eat more than 1GB vram when there are many players in sight. Not sure about the game you mentioned.

Amd athlon ii quad
Asus crossshair iv formula
8gb ram
Hd 6870 1gb

Ive overclocked it to 3.5ghz but still the same performance though..

With xfire the card still only use the RAM of one card. Even if you get two 6870s you still have 1gb VRAM.

At 1080p 1gb is easily enough so it may just be that the GPU itself isn't powerful enough. If possible, try getting 4ghz on your CPU an see if that makes a difference.

You can also try overclocking your graphics card.
