Do not buy a modular PSU.

They don't fit.

Get a normal "all cables out of one hole" PSU.

I now have an entire new PC, except PSU.

THe Hyper Type-R is a modular PSU, whilst being lovely, doesn't fit in the Lian-Li V1000's.
An Antec TruePower would fit though.

Just something to be aware of before purchasing, unlike me.

Have you got a v1000 or a v1000+?
Sorry - I have the + version.

Yes, you can remove the baffle plate + HDD rack...
But then you cannot fit any more than 3 HDD's in without some ghetto modding.
(I have 4 in at the moment)

Fair enough if you only have 3 HDD's or less, but if you are using the 2nd HDD rack - Get a non-modular PSU. :)

(but it was pretty.) :p

The main cables that annoy me are the 6 pin P4 cables, other random ones which are NEVER used.

OK, would use most of the molex cables, but the "never used these in me puff" cables would not have to be hidden somewhere.

Antec TruPower 2 ***.
For the win is barred. :o

I was thinking of that, but also that I like the way the HDD's are cooled in there...

To cool a raptor properly in a 5 1/4" bay, the Vantec looks to be the only one with a crossblower fan - reasonable airflow and reasonable noise level too!
At £50 or around there.

Or spend £50 more on a non-modular PSU from a make I know better.
(Had several antecs, this was the first Hiper I have bought)

I have arranged the RMA of the Hyper to compeditor xxx and bought the Antec from here.
Next day delivery takes it!

EDIT - I like all 3 HDD's in the RAID 5 array to stay in the same place too - Makes things neater. ^.^
