Would you buy?

I have had just had my first experience with Corsair rma and I am very pleased to say the least. I returned a 3 year old h100 that had a noisy pump and a hx 650 psu that starting making loud noises.

Being in the UK, I wasn't going to bother returning them to the Netherlands so I just went out and bought a h100i and an ax760 psu. It was only upon checking the price of sending both of them which amounted to £25 that made me do it.

It took 2 days to get there and only 1 day shipping back to me. And they have sent me a rm 650 psu and a h100i both new and sealed.

How's that for service.

So the question is, would you buy a gpu from Corsair if they started to make them?

I know it may be a silly topic but I am overjoyed right now.:D

Great to hear you had top customer service! I'm not sure I would buy them as they've been developing their current product range for years, so they may fall behind. If they were OEM branded, possibly, but unsure.

I like a lot of Corsair products, so if they moved into manufacturing GPUs then I'd probably give them a chance and see what they could come up with.

However, I don't think it is going to happen in reality - very unlikely I'd say.

It's the warranty and service that would make me purchase. That hx650 had a 7 year warranty. I was 3 years into it.

What company has the longest (useful) warranty on their graphics cards?

I use EVGA GPU's and now I have moved from Corsair PSU's to the EVGA range, but if Corsair started to make GPU's I think I would have a serious look at them.

Some people call me a Corsair fanboy, not sure why...

Depends if they would be making them themselves like their RAM/SSDs or just stamping their name on something made by other people like the PSUs/Coolers.

Not that either of those are bad, their RAM/SSDs are good and their Seasonic PSU's and Asetek coolers rock, but would Corsair GPU's just be reference cards with their name on them (also not a bad thing) and how long would it take before they started letting cheaper OEMs start making them for them like they did with their PSUs and coolers?

I don't like to think of myself as a fanboy... but Corsair do happen to make a lot of products that match my preferences better than most. Logitech are surprisingly good too.

That said, I am "pre-planning" on how to rip my case to pieces and mod the heck out of it... :D

I would avoid Corsair based on my experience :( (blown PSU well within the 7 year warranty but Corsair said I had to pay to return to them ).

If you buy from OCUK they will handle the PSU RMA for you otherwise expect to pay around £50 to send it fully insured back to Corsair RMA HQ at your cost makes a mockery of their 7 year warranty (UNLESS you bought from OCUK when OCUK announced they would handle the RMA's for their own customers).

Look very closely at the RMA terms before buying expensive hardware ;)

i love corsair cases etc but that ship to Netherlands thing is a right ballache.
you know straight away if a problem does arrive then ok they will sort it, but you are stung on shipping straight away.
so any corsair product you buy comes with a £25+ premium afterwards (only if a fault occurs)

Yes Corsair are good but they make you pay to send it back, my K90 was only 14days old and I had to pay to rma it back to them, as the store never had any more stock!

Buying directly from the Post Office or courier company can often cost more. Using parcelmonkey it only cost me ~£20 to send my AX 750 PSU back via. Parcelforce 48 hours, which included loss/damage cover up to £150. I also had the option of a free collection at my door or dropping it off at the Post Office.

They say they're working on a cheaper UK RMA process this year.

I don't think I've ever read about a situation where they made people ship back a whole case, or case parts. In that situation they just send you the replacement parts/panels instead.

I have had to return 2 products to Corsair over the years, first was an old 650 psu, it started buzzing and corsair replaced it with a HX650 no questions asked. Second was my old K90 keyboard, as a product it was pretty meh but it developed a repeating 't' key, again sent it back and corsair replaced it with a K95 !. I'm happy to pay the return costs for service like this.

They are pretty good at sending out psu cables for free if you just ask them in their forums.

Although I do remember a while back a torrent of complaints about a couple of products in their forums, cant remember what they were tho.

The fan cover on my 650 case was broken when it arrived. OCUK suggested I speak to Corsair direct as it was only a small part and OCUK would have to replace the whole case.
I heard nothing for 2 weeks. I then found the broken bit and glued it back on myself.

A week after telling Corsair I'd fixed it myself they finally replied to my message. A new panel arrived in the post 2 days later.
