If I delete a friend on XBL will they still see me log in?

In the title really. I don't want a friend any more, I deleted him, can he still see me log in though? And if he can, how can I stop this from happening.

PS Will it say that I've deleted him? I just don't want him thinking I don't want to be his mate any more heh

(know him irl) I just hate having a big friends list with them logging in and out every now and again, I don't play online at all.

I dont think so, it just removes you of their list. Someone deleted me a while back and the only reason I noticed was because he was gone from my friends list

You can turn off the alerts so you don't see them log in and out I think.

Anyway to the OP no they will not get a message you have deleted, nor will they see you log in, it will remove your tag from his list also.

It's just that it's completely pointless having a friends list if I don't play online. I have most of them on MSN anyway.
