My room has Rockwool which obliterates the WiFi signal but I did install an ethernet socket during refurb... should I be using an extender that plugs into ethernet? Or just get any old extender off Amazon?

Would like to keep top speeds too. Don't trust Amazon reviews.

So you want to have wifi in the room by plugging an AP into the ethernet socket in that room?

I don't know whether to get an AP type or one that plugs into a 3 pin socket. I just want a strong signal.

What I do know is that if it's an ethernet type I don't want it to also plug into a socket (too many cables dangling). So should be power over ethernet (from the router).

Something like the TP-Link EAP653 then.
