Is it legal for me to obtain the likes of a mini-image or a No-cd crack for it? I'm sick of having to change discs all the time, and this would save a lot of time.

I used to dislike steam, but these days i love it, CD's feel a bit obsolete, though Steam isnt always the cheapest option!

Not discussing how or where to obtain them, i was just genuinely curious on the legality - if it does end up being closed, so be it.
