If I put my iPod on another computer...

Hi
I currently have iTunes installed under vista, but my god - its so slow! (I am sure its just crap compatibility with vista, as every otherp rogram and games run smooth).

So all my music is on my iPod, and of course, on my computer (and in the iTunes library). If i install iTunes on another computer and plug in my iPod, will it delete anything on my iPod, as if it "syncs", nothing will be there so it may sync it by deleting everything on my ipod?

i'm fairly sure that if you have it set to sync on your vista machine, putting it on another machine will wipe it. Easiest way round it would be to set it to manually managed on your vista machine, then connect it to another machine.

If i set it to manually managed, is that setting actually saved on the iPod?

Not sure - but when I've moved my ipod between computers it always asks before syncing with the new library. Throws up a message saying something like "This Ipod is currently synced with another computer. <blah blah and other stuff>. Would you like to sync it with this itunes library."
