Hi Guys,

If I reinstall windows will it kerbosh steam? steam is installed to a non windows partition. I was hoping that if copied the save games from windows part I could just put them back in same dirs and continue playing without redownloading or converting my games to cd/dvd.

Thanks,
jmhduck

Just back up the game files from within steam, and keep a copy of the savegames..

Should be able to just plug it all back in :)

aye just backup the "steamapps" folder, reinstall windows, reinstall Steam on to the non windows partition, then copy the steamapps folder back, reload and see all your games :)

Plenty of guides for doing it on their website

Didn't realise you could do that. Windows 7 upgrade failed last which means I'll have to wipe the vista partition at some point. For those who're interested this link seems to be correct.

Does anyone know if all save games are either in My Documents or the steam apps folder?
