Hey, if you come back alive, could you please give us a quick review of that piece of hardware?

I'm in the process of sorting out water cooling and thats one of the blocks i've been looking into.

Thanks

Damit.. you left without me! :D

Well after a few  moments and several hours longer than i intended i'm back on... albiet with a lot of drivers and apps to install. Anyway yeah sure i will let you know more about the blcok in a bit, but early signs show that its super cool compared to my old block, well it would be against TT lol. What is the best temp monitoring for the E8XX series? I know there have been some issues with incorrect temp monitoring thats all

Cant wait to get some benchies done, but can already notice the speed increase and i haven't OC'd yet ;)

CoreTemp, Everest and SpeedFan are all really accurate.

No they are'nt!! The only accurate temps are from Realtemp . Everything else reports the temps completely wrong. I had a E8500 and using Everest, coretemp and speedfan the temps were all over the place. It's to do with the TJmax (or something like that) being estimated wrongly.

Well by running Coretemp, everest, Speedfan and MSI dual core center (supplied with mobo) i am getting completely different temps (see thumb) I am more inclined to believe coretemp and everest which display similar results... Speedfan is out there lol. Hardware monitoring also seems to be inline with Everest. Is this temp quite good for this oc? As far as i can tell this EK Supreme is a far improvement over my old block :)

Cant quite get 4Ghz with out having to pump a lot more volts through this E8400, which for a 100mhz or so increase cant be justified. I'm getting a SuperPI time of just 12.078 seconds to me is more than enough and a big improvement over the X2 doing 1M in 36.9
