Do voice characterisation, like Mel Blanc, might be a bit more fun than creating Notes IDs for the helpdesk!

At the moment I have perfected Andy Serkis' Gollum, not that I want to do impressions, I can just change my voice a lot. Is this a difficult area to get into? Is this thread suitably random for 12:30am?

I think i speak for the entire board by saying you should post some mp3's of you doing some voices...

There's more work out there than you think for voice artists. Having done a bit of stuff with indie games developers, there's a lot of call for voice actors who can do a few odd phrases and lines (think mario-type stuff).

Sexy husky voiced women are in the biggest demand (e.g. for mission briefing scenes hehe)

So can you do anything other than gollum?. I can't stand gollum.. But i want to hear something!, cater for me!. Please.

Like I said, I'm not really into impressions, I just like that voice. I have a few different ones I can show when I'm not at work, been practising an 'underlord' style voice recently.

So anyone know the best way to get started? Send a demo tape to a games company or CBBC?

Gollum is the latest sexy piece of bum they have doing the weather on channel 42. If you hear anyone mention gollum then be sure to pitch in with 'id hit it' and you'll fit in with the cool guys.

allegedly.

You could do novelty birthday cards, open the card "Happy Birthday Wyrel from Gollum" etc, change name to suit name of request.

Or go on the radio ring them up and do voice jingles
