sorry to be a bore, but even if money is no object... reality is. you can't have 4 5970's, that would be octo fire which doesn't exist :)

but if money was no object... 4 GTX 480's would keep the price up nicely.

Only a fool would spend more than say 2k on a rig at the same time. It's all good when you get a bleeding edge system for 10k+, however, it is -not- fun to watch it turn to **** in a couple of years. :rolleyes:


A much more wise approach to the whole 'if money was no object' ordeal would be to spend around 2k now and upgrade every 6 months or so to constantly keep up with the latest tech.

for me right now, if money was no object? Hmmm, two of the dell 3008WFP's, maybe a 5850 to drive them, probably a new MX518 because my one's a bit tatty these days.

and a new laptop. i don't need a new laptop but it'd be nice.
 
Money no object sounds good but if the software doesn't exist to make use of the power there's not a lot of point. Maybe spend some cash on making Windows lighter weight and faster ;)
 
Gotta be a Classified x58 2 for me. Duel Xeon CPUs with 12 cores each. Then put in 94gigs of OCZ 4GB sticks of RAM. A SSD RAID big enough to house all my data, with good standard disks for 10tb of storeage for my porns. 4x 480's. Get me some crazy ass sub and speaker wall. Sit back and plug myself into the matrix.
Heart attack at 30 not included.
 
I would have to just buy a Solid Gold iPhone :)

+ For a PC, i'd go for a Skulltrail setup just to look cool, with 2 of the soon to come '8core Xeons' :)

with some crazy 480mm **** and 2 GTX480's (ati is too buggy for me, even though i have a 5770 :p)
 
Think as others have said, even if I had ridiculous amounts of cash the max I'd spend on a new rig is probably about 2k given that above that it's slightly impossible to notice any real performance gains.

I'd want a totally silent system that was about the size of the wii and enough to max out the latest games and throws drugs at me.

If Money was no object...

I would buy a house, yacht, new car and holiday for all family and friends. My computer works fine as it is
