If one gets caught speeding, how long does it take before you find out?

They have to post you a notice of intended prosecution within 14 days of the offence, note that they only have to post it within 14 days, you can recieve it any time after that.

14 Days give or take a day or so (Royal Fail).

Within 2 weeks I think.

I'm waiting atm, was pretty sure I got done a week last sunday, still got me fingers crossed.

Yup, what has been said is right.

They must record notifying you of intention to begin prosecution within 2 weeks.

So if you have heard nothing within lets say 17 days for saftey (late mail etc) then your ok.

14days + postage - To private reg'ed owner
6 months - To business/leased car

They have to inform you within 14days, but some allowance for late delivery if it has been posted in sufficient time to get to you. It also must be sent by 1st class delivery.
