If only the game worked

I've just been browsing my game collection, and I came across The Jupiter Incident. And I remember playing it and loving it to bits, but I just couldn't finish it. Hours of hunting through forums, looking for fixes, patches, drivers nothing worked. In the end I gave up.

Now I was wondering how many other people have been unable to finish a game due to bugs?

link removed im afraid as it has links to emulation Try doing a search here or posting as they are very helpful in getting old games to work.

Frontier: First Encounters................
They never bothered to finish the game or even the storyline properly, but a great game!- There are massive segments of storyline visible in some of the data files that no-one has ever enabled or found yet...........

Well, I was unable to even load, never mind complete the retail version of Unreal :) I did eventually manage to copy a patch onto floppies at a netcafe to get it working, after spending well over an hour on the phone to GTi.

Area51 would have been impossible for me to complete if I hadn't figured out what was causing one of the bugs (there is no patch). Basically if your framerate is over around 100fps, then jump doesn't work! I couldn't work out why I kept failing this one jump in a platformy section, it was near a corner so of course all the other jumps in the main room were fine (fps<100 due to more open spaces), but for this final jump my FPS would soar and cause me to miss the jump.

If you have any sort of XP customisations installed like Windows Blinds/XP Boot Skins or some other visual GUI/Boot screen upgrade it can prevent certain games from running. Both GTAVC + GTASA do not run (crash to the desktop with no error message) if windows blinds is installed on my PC yet if I remove it they both work fine.

Seriously it really was the game, the developers where well aware that it was bugged to heck, and I got the impression they where not happy having to release it. They virtually admited so on their forums.
