...will the pic still be saved anywhere? i can't find it, so i'm assuming it vanished when i deleted the database.
if someone posts a pic on my forums and i delete the database...

Depends on the forum software and its settings. But normally pictures are stored in the filesystem, though I believe vB3 stores them in the database by default

it's phpBB. i managed to find a few of the avatars, but not the pic i was looking for.

Far as I know they don't store stuff in the database, but they might mangle the filenames so make sure to check everything
