If there was one game.......

i remember one of the first games i ever played, my brother got Lord of The Rings, it came on like 20 floppy disks and we installed it on our amstrad and it was amazing! i must have only been like 6 years old or something... it was soo good because you played it out exactly like the books, it was an rpg but you controlled it like a strategy, with a birds eye view and clicking your surroundings with a control bar along the bottom.

im tempted to go home and try and dig out the old amstrad i hope is somewhere in my mums attic and try and bring it back to life purely for that game.

i have since found the disks but i cant get them to work, suprisingly Vista and XP dont run software from 1990.

I remember Beneath a Steel Sky on the Amiga had 12/13 disks. That was a nightmare but damn good game!

As for Dungeon Keeper 2 - all I can say is Yes! It was superb in it's day but it would be awesome to get a new one from big Pete.

star trek birth of the federation without a doubt, lost many many many days of my teenage life playing that game! loved it so much, such a shame they never made a follow-up :(

I'm still playing this :D Me and a mate just dusted it off and started a multiplayer. It's aged pretty well...

Populous II (a proper one, not the recent Pop games), Starglider or Hired Guns.

And good to see people recalling Mercenary. Good game, definitely ahead of its time.
