Hi,
Sorta inspired by a thread i saw on a footy forum a friend showed me:

If you could change anything about football for a day, what would you change?

For example, i personally would like to see done:

- Goal line technology.
- Video Ref / Video evidence.
- All competitions allowing 7 subs on the bench (looking at the prem here).
- All competitions allowing an extra sub to take place in extra time IF the initial 3 have been used.
- Wage caps.

Cant think of nout else, but you get the idea. Discuss! :p

Transfer fee caps to go with the wage caps, but this would have to be implemented at a FIFA level so that everyone has an even playing field.

Jokester's is a good idea, and would probably work out to be pretty amusing!

Im not sure on the Transfer Caps myself tbh.

Wage caps would keep the players from 'in theory' moving for money reasons, but transfer caps wouldnt benefit that....

Maybe a limit to how much can be spent based on the clubs income?

Not just wage caps but transfer caps too. With the introduction of these billionaire owners it's starting to become ridiculous. Teams should only be allowed to spend the money that they made from advertising, tickets etc.

MW

1) no player should be allowed to earn more then a servant in the army, raf, navy etc.

2) contracts should be honoured, whether its a 1 year or 5 year deal, the player must not be allowed to leave, unless there are clauses like miminum transfer release fee clauses etc.

3) each team can only spend a max of £40 million a season

4) each team should field a min 6 english players, a max 5 foreigners

5) divers should be given fixed penalty of one match ban

thats all i can think of for now :D

Here are the things I would do.

(and before someone starts picking holes in them and criticising them, just remember its personal opinion and there is no right and wrong choices)

- Technology usage.

- Stronger push on bookings for playacting, and abolishing the PC term "simulation"..lets call it what it is, diving/playacting/cheating whatever.

- "taking the ball to the corner flag" in the closing stages of a game, I would make that a bookable offense for time-wasting on the grounds that you are not making an attempt to "play" the ball.

- team based wage caps (ie, there is a set total that a teams wages can add up to)

- Even distribution of tv covered teams, rather than the weight of live coverage going to the "big" teams.

- Referees and managers *must* attend a post match interview.

- abolish the yellow card for taking your shirt off

- re-address what constitutes a foul. Bring back the old days where you could shoulder tackle etc without the ref waving yellow cards willy-nilly

- re-address the rules for allowable pitch sizes and standards to something more uniform. Some stadiums have very enhanced (raised) goalmouth areas. I would like to see that addressed. Pitch should be flat across the board, not raised around the keeper.

- I agree with both the OPs sub rule changes.

Its like that in most leagues apart from ours, dunno why were different.

Really?? Oh. I was always under the impression that managers were obliged to have a post game press conference.

Well..ok, if its not a rule, then it should be :)

Nope, the only reason SAF doesn't talk to the BBC is because of transfer fixing allegations about his son and himself.

Both Sam Allardyce and Harry Redknapp are the same.

Ok, in that case - change my rule to post-match interviews to be mandatory for managers and referee

Talk about foreign players caps is poo really. The English quality just isnt there these days. If there's a cap Man U wont be winning CL etc.

Keep it as it is, just means that English players have to fight for their places more.

Look at Rooney! One of the hardest working players in a long time.

Video refs.

Yello cards if you take ur shirt off should be gone.

Harsher rules on diving.
