You're sure of some good photographic opportunities!
Spent a while down in Cardiff bay today, shooting this & that. Was good fun. Bloody freezing though :o

Here's the very dodgily processed pics. Am using a naff monitor, so apologies if colours are way off base :s

Looking up at the assembly, IR :

Over the bay, blurry boats :( IR :

the Norweigan Church, IR. Can't be arsed to fix the dodgy glare :

The sun doing nice things :

It started raining after this, so I went and hid in one of the bars, and filled my belly with nice food & beer :)

Not much light when I came out...

Looking over the bay, IR... f2.8 30 second exp. ! :

Same as above! :

Then I went and hid in a coffee shop... And met up with a guy from the *****.net forums. We wandered around and took a few snaps of this n' that - but i'm too tired to process those now, so I'll do that tomorrow :)

That Looks Amazingly Stunning mate! Very well done. I was picking a large bunch of faves until I saw this.. I really do like this shot, The white looks so heavnly and it contrasts wonderfully against the scene!!!

The rest of your work is very good. I like the 1st a lot too! Just again, Crisp and well contrasted!

The IR shots are very good.. Dont feel sad about the blurry boats, it adds to that left alone at sea feeling and for me, works!.

:D

Cheers dude :)

It's an awesome spot to take pics, both of the church and the surrounding area.

Had a little "encounter" with another photographer when I was at the church... Some chap turned up with a high end Canon film SLR (not sure exactly what model... Oh, and he had two bodies, and a plethora of lenses...) got chatting to him, nice chap... We were "away" from my kit though. I stumbled across him circling the church looking for better angles. He asked to see what I was using, and when he realised that I was a) shooting Nikon and b) shooting digital, he refused to speak to me. He went and packed up all his gear, got in his car, and drove off. Quickly.

Now i'm not shooting in more populated areas that often, so I don't really run into other photogaphers - but is that normal? Did I do something really dumb to offend him? :(

jealousy :p one word to explain the entire situaton :p

... But if anything I should be jealous of him, not the other way around? His gear was blatantly very, very nice.

I think all his lenses were "L" glass, too (they're the ones with the red rings, right?)

perhaps he was one of those people that get it onto their heads that only one thing is worth having even though other alternatives can produce really good results?

Hmmm, mebbe - I just hope that most aren't like that. I was quite excited to stumble across a more "real" photographer :(

well results speak for them selves imo, your photographs are incredible :) don't gert downhearted, you have talent!

He is probably one of those old fashionists that refuse to join the digital revolution.. In many respects you can understand if people have been using film all their lifes.. Then Digital comes along and does more in twice the time. Still, Its rude whatever his reason was.

Yes red rings is the global sign for L Series glass.
