If you have a dead pixel, can you not fix it or get it repaired from where you got it

well considering most lcd manufacturers have a set tolerance policy in regards to dead pixels I highly doubt 1 single pixel would get fixed, repairing is not possible from my understanding of lcd's.

iirc one or two companies used to have a no dead pixel policy but I can't remember who they are or if they're still doing them
 
Dead pixels are less common than you would think, i have had 2 pc tft monitors, 2 laptops, 2 HD tv's, a psp, a DS & numerous colour screen phones.

Out of all the above only the psp had a dead pixel.
 
It is possible to have a stuck pixel, i think this is remedied with some quick flashes of colour to try and unstick it, forcing the pixel to change colour rapidly.
