If you have a multi CCD X3D CPU watch this, VERY IMPORTANT.

Edit: Added later.....

Please don't listen to Jay, he's handing out bad advice. This is how you manage a dual CCD X3D part.
And, if you ever have an issue whereby cores are not parking properly:

Run "Process Idle Tasks" by opening the command prompt as an administrator and type (remove"") "Cmd.exe /c start /wait Rundll32.exe advapi32.dll,ProcessIdleTasks" and hit enter. This may take some time (up-to 15 minutes), so try not to touch the keyboard or mouse during the process.

That will fix it.

How to set up your Multi CCD X3D CPU to operative as intended with its proper performance in games, This would be 7900X3D, 7950X3D, 9950X3D, 9900X3D.

It important that you watch all of this because while you think you may have it set up properly there are ways in which Windows will let you down.

If they put 3d cache on all cores this generation it will hopefully do just that.
Putting it on half the cores was always likely to cause issues, as it relied on smart scheduling (which windows is known so well for...I appreciate its incredibly complex but still...)

Microsoft will find a way…

Oh look. The guy who binned off AMD because of core parking has now made a big turn around due to intel chips dying and has fixed the issue he originally binned AMD off for.....yawn. Clockbait2cents at his finest

He's intellectually lazy.... if it doesn't work exactly like Intel its AMD's fault, this instead of putting in the work in researching how they differ.

Its as funny as it is annoying, you see this video... in it he kept talking about Curve Optimiser in terms of -40mv and -33mv, how long has Curve Optimiser been around? about 4 years, you go on any CPU forum and talk about Curve Optimiser the vast majority of people will know those value are about points representing a mv range, for example 1 point on the Curve Optimiser represents a value of about 3mv at the high end of a frequency curve spectrum to 5mv at the low end on the curve, so -40 can represent a range of -120mv to -200mv.

He complained that setting a value of "-40mv" wasn't stable and still crashing at a value of "-33mv", with that he threw his arms in the air "stupid AMD its not even stable at -33mv" and gave up
The irony is at the beginning of the video he was complaining that "AMD fanbois were calling him stupid for constantly getting things wrong"

You couldn't ______ make it up.....

A polite way to call someone ******* stupid....I like it :D

Even in this video he complained that the AMD tool doesn't uninstall its own drivers properly, its not AMD's uninstaller, its Windows, everyone knows Windows leaves stuff behind and that causes problems when you're trying to install 'true' fresh drivers, its why the tool he keep recommending, that being Revo Uninstaller and things like DDU exist.

So.... yeah, because he seems incapable of adding these things up, critical thinking.

I mean it's not like AMD are the only ones that do it, as you say, because Windows. However if a 3rd party tool can clean up after AMD's drivers, couldn't AMD's drivers do that too?

They sort of do, for Graphics at least, An AMD DDU equivalent, it even requests you to use it in Windows Safe Mode.
AMD Clean-up Utility. https://www.amd.com/en/resources/support-articles/faqs/GPU-601.html

Its kind of odd that clearly AMD know the problem with Microsoft's uninstaller, they have a stand alone utility for uninstalling GPU drivers properly so they must do, why they can't just incorporate this in to the drivers CP uninstall option might be a hint as to a reason, what that reason is who knows but if you ask google to ask Microsoft about these sort of utilities Microsoft will say don't use them, they will cause a nasty to your OS and all of that... I think Windows leaves all this crap behind deliberately and that's the way they like it, that's probably what they are telling people who make software for Windows.

Added to the OP Matt thanks :)

It's a pity about the re-installing Windows bit as I'd like to try the 9950X3D but I don't want to have to faff about removing the GPU so I can remove the SSDs, so that I can re-install Windows. Not to mention I don't want to have to re-install Windows (it's such a pain setting everything back up again).

Yeah it's not ideal and I'm sure at some point a fix will come out to address this. But for now, it's what must be done to maximise performance and minimise the risk of any 'issues'. That's not to say you can't do it though, I'm sure plenty do. But then you may leave some performance on the table, or find things don't work quite as expected.

I'll stick to GN instead of this uturning mofo intel fanboy  until Intel start chucking the cash back at him/other tubers!
