Hi,
First of all I dont expect this to be a solution for everyone with this problem and i'm by no means an expert this is just a answer I found while tinkering with my system.
I recently upgraded to an Asus GTX 480 and unfortunately got the dreaded micro stutter in certain games particularly if I was using anti aliasing. I first thought it was my power supply as it was an aging 750w with 4 12v rails with 18a each. So I upgraded to a Corsair TX850w, no change.
I also tried every driver available including beta drivers but no change.
I tried removing all my overclocks but again no change,
I ununstalled the effected games and did a clean install but still no change.
I did a clean install of Windows 7 64 but again no change.
I had already before changed the global setting in the nvidia driver but again saw no change. However then I set those settings for each game individually setting the nvidia driver to control anti aliasing and antostropic filtering not the game. Once I did this it worked all micro stutter was gone.
I dont really understand why putting the same settings I had in global settings in the program setting for each individual game made a difference. Maybe someone could shed some light on this. Hope this helps someone.
