Im at a crossroads,,

Im planning on getting a mobo/cpu/ram upgrade done this week as my motherboard is failing on post
takes me about 45 minutes to get it to boot, it powers on then powers off 2 seconds later then does that over and over sometimes i will see the boot process led go through different bootup post codes then it will power off again and reboot and this time nothing on the lcd showing it booting up then it will power off again rinse and repeat..

Gigabyte Z97Xoc Force board
with 4790k @4.8

once the system does boot it will work perfectly until i shutdown then same crap again lol

anyway i think the motherboard has issues

hence really needing a mobo/cpu/ram upgrade as z97 takes DDR3 so i would be requiring DDR4

what would you go for, im getting told over and over by people that 8700k is the choice with z370mobo
but ryzen 2 has just been released and its not so much the cpu im interested in funnily enough its the motherboards x470 motherboards look great.. and 2700x does not look like its that far behind intel this time and seems the memory issues that where there with the 1st gens are almost ironed out.

so im in a bit of a dilema what would you guys go for
i dont mind going either way im not tied to intel or amd as in being one sided......

Budget 1.2k dont mind what i go for to be honest i7 8700k though seems the logica choice given that its faster for gaming.
and i cant wait as my system could give up the ghost anytime as there is definatlly something fishy with the board and to strip the syttem would take quite a wile and i would rather upgrade since im having to dismantly the watercooling setup anyway and would rather not run into issues that way i can also test the motherboard bare bones and see if its fixable that way i can sell the cpu/mobo/ram that i currently have to make some of the cash back.

so yeah 1.2k is my budget though must incl monoblock or waterblock
and motherboard/cpu what do you guys suggest looking for the best motherboard memory will be around 3200-3866 anything faster probably woudlnt boot up at low latency anyway...

choices ? system will be paired with 2x gigabyte cards 1080ti watercooled cards.
pci express lanes must include 16x16x when paired.

OK guys thanks for the info`s ;)
i think im going to wait until the full reviews are out for ryzen then decide then... im i really going to notice a difference between the 2 with 2x 1080ti`s i dont think i would
and i think the ryzen 2700x would get better and better from what i have seen so far though there is definatly room for ryzen to improve where as 8700k has been out a while so even more performance to be gained.

i will wait, though speaking of ryzen, what would be the best board to pair with ryzen 2700x board with most features :) very high end.
and what memory to get, memory must be 32gb im thinking the 8 pack stuff 3200 or 3866 as i think that would be the most compatible.

i have had gigabyte before so im guessing gigabyte again for the board ? thanks for the help guys.
