Would you consider ìt a viable alternative to buy a Sony RX10 Mark 3 as opposed to the XF100-400mm?
There is supposed to be a Steve Huff review out today on his Facebook page. The reason I asked the original question was because I don't have a 100-400 XF lense suitable for wildlife and aircraft. The price of the new Sony RX10 would out cheaper with an aperture of 2.4-4 @ 600mm with 4k video and slow motion. Obviously I'll be waiting on the quality but do still remain impressed by the XF100-400mm
I will eventually get the XT2 but the wait is killing me (and am currently using a XT10).
Edit: A number of things I hadn't factored in to this equation would be the depreciation value on the Rx10 III as opposed to the Fuji lens and the added benefit of purchasing the 1.4X teleconverter, giving users an equivalent focal length of 213-853mm. It looks like I have just answered my own question until I can be persuaded to the contrary
I don't think the wait will be long for an X-T2 - summer/early Autumn possibly. I was speaking with some Fuji reps recently about the X-Pro2 and the X-T2, and whilst they couldn't give me any concrete info their non-verbal communication told me a lot
