if you were giggs or scholes

Be suprised if Scholes went as he seems a real family man and didnt he say he wants to go to Oldham in a non playing role? Although saying that sign a 1yr contract 200k pw and then postpone oldham job for a while :p

Meh, they'll both have 10's of mils in the bank, huge houses, the cars they want already, a couple years at 5mil a year ain't half bad, but realistically, they'd still have to retire, and the money they have can be invested to return 10's of mil's over the rest of their lives anyway so its hardly going to make or break them.

I'd think realistically playing in that heat would be horrible, long hot very tiring training sessions and worse for matches, in a league no one cars about.

MLS is FAR more appealing, better life for their kids/families, better places to live, a 1-2 hour flight from every kind of weather/location you want, a league that at least some people care about that is actually improving pretty dramatically, for similar money. I know which I'd choose.

Agree with DM, they have lots already and seem sensible enough to have invested it well.
Can't see them heading in that direction.

MLS being more competitive is a bad thing when your looking at retiring. You want to be slowing down, not trying to keep up with youngster's. Theres a greater chance of rash tackles, and injuries playing at a higher level/speed. In dubai they could take it easy, stroll about the pitch and not go into 50/50's.

Personally dubai would be my choice at that age and on that wage. It doesn't matter how much money you have, you could always do with/want a bit more.

as everyone else said, they don't need the money. and they have proved their loyalty beyond question, unlike a money grabbing little scouser.
they would be better off going into coaching, with all their experience.

I'd say they both want to end their careers as a 'one man club' type of player. Much more respectable imo. If it was maybe when they were 32-34, you'd think why not - but at 35+ there seems to be no point.

nobody needs money, they do want it though.

a lot of old players keep playing because they love playing, fowler has continued his career in lower leagues for this reason.

coaching wouldn't be as well paid as £200,000 a week, i doubt it would even be 10% of that. but definitely something to consider when they are no longer physically able to keep up with everyone else.

henry has moved to america, a la beckham. players would prefer to play than coach. with big money on the table, they would be mad to not consider it. move to dubai for 2 years, then come back if you want, its not as if they are asking you to move to mars.

It entirely depends on the players themselves considering they don't need the money at all but i'd be very surprised if either went to play outside the UK as opposed to retiring on extremely illustrious careers at United tbh.

Nobody would begrudge them going whatever they choose.

Their loyalty to Man UTD is unquestionable but they can't keep playing at the very top level forever.

Neville 200,000 a week :D. Makes John O'Shea at 80k a week a bargain. Wonder if he is considered a legend at Old Trafford yet?

i have never liked gary neville.
i respect phil neville more, and he plays for everton :p
and ironically, he played right back at the weekend, and was way better than his brother has been for ages

hmm, i always thought gary neville was considered very highly by the united fans, maybe not.

but giggs is one player that every football fan will admire, i bet liverpool fans love him too

it would be tempting but surely they have enough money that they dont need to do it.

its not like they are on archaic low contracts and need that final pay off is it? therefore it comes down to how much do they want the money and how willing are they to give up family time to do so in dubai!

That being the key word. Was always one of the best right backs in the world but that was a long time ago, it's just a shame that everyone bar Fergie can see it.
