If you were housebound for a week and couldn't leave due to an operation on your leg, how would you keep yourself amused???

I'm so bored of PC gaming, watching crap daytime TV, although Jeremy Kyle is pretty good, but all the home improvement programs are driving me insane. I've watched all the DVDs about a million times...what else can I do???

go out for a walk?
:p

or if youre feeling particularly effeminate (or have no-one else to do these things for you) you could do some chores.
make a really elaborate dinner.
read a book / internet.
do things that can't be discussed on a family forum (slaughter rabbits, call adult chat lines. etc)
throw rotten fruit over the fence,
sit outside in the garden and get a tan.

Do what you are doing now, on the net. When you are bored of surfing, go to a site to learn silly things you always wanted to know, like howthingswork.com and fill in those irritating intelligence gaps.
When you are finally up and about, you will be a mountain of knowledge :D

Your arms/wrist/hands still work?

How about making some airfix models. A massive jigsaw. Learn some new recipes. Blah.

Your leg will heal slower if you keep on watching Jeremy Kyle and it wont even heal at all if you dare watch Trisha.....It slows down the brain and mind. Fact.

:D

I'd love a week off to play on the net, watch TV, eat and sleep :D

I'd be completely lazy, I'd avoid all house work and try to have a take away every night to avoid cooking :p

Thats basically all i did on my three weeks off over Christmas :D

Apart from the take aways :p

Im going to have about 3 weeks from the time i leave to college to the time my RTS starts, apart from going to the gym im going to be bored ****less :o

I would use it to catch up on stuff that I normally don't have time for.
  • Watch some films I've been meaning to watch.
  • Cook some food I've been meaning to try cooking.
  • Read some books that I rarely have time to pick up.
  • Sell a load of crap I no longer use, 21" CRT monitor, misc computer junk and games
  • Repair my bike.
  • Clean out my office and organise everything properly again.

Read. Lots.

I'd love to have a week where I couldn't do anything :p
Not sure about the OP, but a couple of years ago I was stuck at home for 4 weeks after smashing up my ankle and breaking a wrist, with the painkillers they'd given me there was no way I could concentrate properly enough to read anything, tv was just about doable but I also ended up sleeping a lot.

You need to sit at home and get fat remember :D

Is there nothing you really want to learn to do?

Learn to program.
Learn to solder/electronics - buy a project from (a well known electronics store) or get a microcontroller and program it too.
Get a few more MHz out of your processor.
Learn to photoshop.

Yeah, these are all geeky, but they are all constructive and take some dedication, you might get some sense of achievement out of them. If this is your first bit of 'off' time in a while, use it rather than moping about with DVDs and TV.
