For a case around the £100 mark and would never be watercooling
which case would you get.I am getting the message about the
akasa eclipse 62 being very good" just suspect it's mostly from people who bought their eclipse years ago" for air cooling but cannot decide
between it or the antec p180,which seems to have very good air
cooling potential and value for money. Is the eclipse proven to be cooler than an antec p180 on the same setup ?.Have tried finding comparison charts cannot find any.Anyone out there that's had experience
of both or any input or advice would be much appreciated.

2 hdd
probably e6600
air cooling

People are still buying Akasa Eclipse's to this very day, don't know where you got the idea that feedback are only from people who bought them years ago  Akasa can't build enough too meet demand, they are very popular cases simply because they offer everything you ever need, even down to additional side panel windows and side panels with fans, its a builders dream, you only have to look at Akasa links to see why..... nuff said. ;) :D Closed.

I own a p180, and I wouldn't get another one. Go for the Eclipse 62 if you want a good air case. Either that, or the Lian Li pc-7
Agreed! I own a P180 but don't use it any more! It's just too cramped! Had an X850XT, Arctic Cooling Freezer 64, 2 HDD's and 2 dvd drives and it was impossible to do anything with it! I made the decision to move my kit out of it when i got a 7950GX2 and a Scythe Ninja!

I don't like throwing money away by any means but the P180 was one example of a poor purchase decision! I'm using an 8 year old server case as that is better laid out and more spacious! I'm sure, from looking at the pictures, that the Eclipse 62 would be a much bigger beast than what i'm using now!

Messiah's right - get either the Eclipse or the Lian Li!

yeah another bad report on a p180 here. thought it would be amazing turned out to be rubbish just get something with a lot of internal space which you like the look of.

p180 really is not that good. i have one under my desk right now. Cooling is "ok" you can shove 4 120mm fans in there, but he cables in *** way kinda negate this, I would get an eclipse or lian li any day now. Infact i will when its my birthday :D ...

Don't be mistaken, in the right rig and setup the P180 is a superb case, just its made to a budget.

Antec said they needed these 20 features and it needs to cost this much, then they made the case that way round.

Akasa just purchased (I think) the licence from another company and said it needs to be the best cooling and easy to work with, best way to get that was to buy a small business server class case design from someone else add a few accessories and they were laughing.

The Akasa is not made to a budget, the price of the case is just the cost to make it + the margins of the various parties before it gets to you.

If you can live with the looks its the best case around, if you can not you can go for the second best but has slightly better build quality PC7+ which offers more "bling" if you can call the quality that.

Lots of options with cases, but the older cases that have stood the test of time are the ones to go with in my opinion, although the PC7+ has only really became what I would consider awesome since it got the current fan load out; the Akasa since its Savrow days which is when I first got one has been held in exceptionally high regard with me.

Cool anything, run anything, mod anything, fit anything and take a beating is just about what the Eclipse and PC7+ are about.

The NZXT Adamas looks like a good case to contend with the above, although its fan setup is ringing alarm bells with me, hoping to try one out soon though although a little busy. Certainly may be the case to finally break NZXT into what I would consider the premier league of the case manufacturers but only time with the case will be able to make that impression on me; promising.

*snip*

I don't even think its the budget thing thats the problem tbh. Its just over engineered, and everything has been designed to fit just so, leaving no space for manouver. I think the prime example of this is the bottom section of the case. Some one has obviously gone "Lets fit a fan down there to keep the harddrives cool" But didn't consider the potential mess of PSU cables that could interfere wit hthe fan.

Does look to be a very tidy case, will keep an eye out for that one I think.

Its the build quality issues, granted the support is great but the case of the P180's potential should not have build quality issues.

You could also say it is under engineered with the lack of cable management, although I know you are completely correct in what you are saying.

It just does not have that feel that it has been developed enough, the concept on paper is nigh on the perfect case as is the S80b, yet the final execution leaves a lot to be desired.

I'd still get the CM Stacker 810-T01 (A lot of places still have stock). Huge, massive airflow potential, easy to work on, well designed, can run BTX if you want, looks good (Subjective, I know)... I just love this case....

All in all, the best case I have owned...
