What the hell is this latest trend?

Thingify, Wealthify, Eatify, what next, tamponsify?

Do these people not realise that simply adding "ify" to the end of a word doesn't make it a new word?

Stop butchering the English language fools!

Goes to yell at clouds...

Shock as people modify and simplify the English, because that has never happened before ;)

To clarify, I'm not trying to justify or qualify these occurances, just trying to identify why it might terrify or horrify you so much, and find a way to pacify and rectify your concerns. Only then can we unify and fortify as people, separated by a common language.

Semper Fi!

You made me gigglify dammit.

Odd, must have mistaken your username, my apologies

Maybe not, some of my threads have some decent staying power (Amazon Prime sucks massive donkey balls being one of them) and I'm always posting drivel so my username shouldn't be unfamiliar to most who frequent GD tbh. Plus I'm an irritating bell end so most lnow me fairly well from that point of view.

The next generation of idiots really.

We have a student in our workplace (25) who doesn't have any grasp of the real world at all. One of the other guys in the office has started making a 'book' with all her isms. Yesterday she was working on a project where she needed to make it more angular, instead, she said she needed to make it more anglified :o Apparently she's one of the better ones from her year!:(

Americans irritate the hell out of me. I started watching a show on telly the other night about a Vegas wise guy, but after the 2nd or 3rd "burglarized" I had to turn it off. What happened to just burgling? Burgled? What the hell is "burglarize"? Stupid yanks.
