Guys,

IGFXTRAY.exe is being asked to be ran at every boot up.
IE: something is prompting ir to be asked to be ran. I think.

I know what igfxtray is and I've had this problem before. Just cant remember what I did. My google skills are shocking today...

igfxtray.exe is the little Intel tray icon bottom right. If you want video setting control from there keep it. If you don't mind doing settings from right click on desktop then disable it.
Seriously, can you not read?

It is not good to me disabling the tray icon. It needs to be there.
It shouldn't be asking for the "Do you want to run this file" prompt at startup...

What's with the attitude? I had only quoted what another person found to be the solution to the problem.
Sorry, but I said my OP that I knew what it was.
The solution isn't valid for me as the tray icon needs to stay.
Bad day in work ;)

It's got nothing to do with this, it's set to autorun that's all. Theres no need for these to run and it won't effect anything.
Thanks, aware of that but as I said above. It needs to be there :)

Installing the latest Intel drivers will also install the latest gubbins for running in the background. This could well fix the issue. It takes all of 2 minutes too, so worth a punt in any case.

Also, as the OP has pointed out, he knows what it is and has stated he wants it to run. People are having comprehension fail in this thread! :p

Yes it does.. igfxtray.exe is bundled with Intel graphics drivers.

It is also normal for laptops/PCs that use these drivers to have igfxtray.exe autorun on startup WITHOUT the security warning.

That's clear now, but to be fair the OP was ambiguous at best. I read it as he knew what the process was, but didn't want it to auto-run. He said it was "being prompted to run" at start-up, not that HE was receiving a prompt to ALLOW it to run. Big difference.

Hence, I (as it seems did others) read that as meaning he wanted to know how to disable the auto-run for that item. :p

But as was said, hopefully reinstalling the latest drivers should fix this. That aside, I know you said you wanted the systray icon, but do you really need it when you can right click the desktop? Seems a quicker (albeit dirtier) way to a quick fix. :D

Intel shouldn't put it in the task tray, a right click desktop is sufficient in my eyes.
