... Is exactly what i've done for the past few nights playing Halo 2 for the first time. I literally havn't killed or even shot at anything when it wasn't necessary. As soon as I realised I could do this it seemed to make the game incredibly pointless. Finished it about an hour ago.

Is Halo 3 the same? If so I don't think i'll bother :(

Why would you do that anyways?
Just don't do it seems a reasonable answer.

And no, you cant just run... sometimes you can skip some of course... but not all

You can't do that in 3 really, 1 and 2 you can though. but it does make the game kinda pointless playing it that way.

Yeh but what am I achieving by strafing side to side killing a few enemies, when I could just ignore them?

It's just bad design really. I'm not complaining, I chose to play it like that, but only because I didn't see the point in actually killing things.

Perhaps because running by bad guys defeats the whole point - you may as well not bother loading the game in the first place.

i did that in half life 2 at one point, before you get the airboat, the 1st time you get shelled by alien thingys, I just ran away and saved ammo

I suppose once you realise you can just run away, it makes the game pretty pointless dont it....

But Halo 3 has quite a bit of set pieces where you have to fight the enemies. But I wouldnt get it anyway - I think it sucks. Well...it dont exactly suck, but its not brilliant either.

And your name is ripper? :D

I laughed. :p

As I've got older it's become more appealing to me. I find shooting hordes of baddies a chore sometimes and just want to progress with the story. It's really the story that I look for in a game. In Halo 3 I just preferred to run everything over rather than shoot them.
