Ignore specific USB devices?

I just got a new USB KVM switch. Unlike the PS2 one it replaces, it does not emulate persistant devices. So, every time I punch away to my Linux box, XP goes "badunk"(lost keyboard) "badunk" (lost mouse) "badunk" (lost hub). Then, 2 seconds later, I punch back and "badoop" "badoop" "badoop", it finds them all again.

Driving me gently potty, and I'm considering just removing the sound alert for USB devices, but I was wondering if it is possible to specify that windows not notify me of changes to these 3 devices only?

Im afraid I cant help but what a great description of windows sounds :p

Id just disable the sounds myself

I think it may come to that.

Or, since I am a "win-sadist", I'll just replace the offending soundfiles with 0byte ones, and let the dozey git THINK it's annoying me when it's not. Hopefully that way it wont feel the need to work on some new annoyance :p
