Mrs brought me the IIyama Prolite E2473HDS as a xmas present but with this being LED Backlit, not so sure ,heard some bad stories about backlit TV's and was wondering if this is the same for monitors , being looking at Iiyama ProLite E2409HDS and Iiyama ProLite E2407HDS both LCD monitors all around the same price £150 ish

If you can reommend another brand would be most gratefull.

Use it mainly for surfing watching videos, games to be played are the stratagy kind,

Cheers

Led backlighted monitors don't have any inherit problems that would make them inferior to CCFL backlit ones.

Because they allow for thinners monitors some manufacturers make them so thin that there is a bigger chance of severe backlight bleed. There also aren't any wide-gamut led-backlit desktop monitors but that's something you wont find in 99% of the monitors regardless of backlight type. Just focus on the strong points, instant on monitor (no warming up) and a lower power usage.

Well how do you find the monitor yourself? If you like it, then there's no reason to replace it. Got the E2407HD myself and while some people complain about backlight bleeding it doesn't bother me at all. Infact it's one of the best budget monitors I've had.

I just ordered a E2473HDS myself. Reviews seem great! Nothing else the size and money seemed any better. Why not try it and see? Mines arriving tomorrow but wont be able to tey till the weekend. Doh!
