Hey peeps,

Looking for a large monitor. I've given up on finding a good 32" QHD because they're all that same naff VA panel (grr). There are two choices in IPS territory; new 32" @4k, and old 30" @QHD.

So am I mental to be considering an older QHD unit?

I know there are some good 32" 4k gaming IPS screens starting to appear, but are my windows desktop and hardware ready for 4k? Probably not. Those are some pretty petite pixels, and my productivity programs do not scale well. I also don't really want to have to buy the top GPU every year in order to play current titles.

So I'm looking at the Iiyama Prolite XB3070WQS-B1, and the Dell 3014. Both are 30" 1600p AH-IPS displays with very similar specs that seem sensible for part-gaming part-professional usage.

But I'm worried I'll feel like a massive n00b if I buy an older, smaller, more expensive screen with less pixels :/ Would appreciate thoughts about such models. Anyone got either of the two mentioned? How do you feel about yours? :)

Cheers
