What was the desk that a lot of people of here brought from Argos and Ikea?

Well i bought my desk from Argos and it is absolutely CRAP!!

It wobbles about and the look of the oak vaneer is epically tacky!




(This was at the time I worked at Argos - I should have known better lol )

Can't imagine both those places would sell the same desk...

A few years back the Ikea Jerker computer desk was pretty popular though, it's what I have, but they don't seem to sell it anymore.

Nah sorry, its not the same desk. Its two differant ones. I would like to have a look at both, come to think of it I think that Argos may have discontinued there one

I've got OMNE from Ikea - don't think it's meant to be a desk but it's pretty good, cheap and pretty customisable.

Flat pack = basic
Pine wood = superb

yeh think i have it with the glass top,

cheap but solid enough, got it and a decent leather chair for 60 odd,
really good value

i got an ikea Mikael the other week and it's layout pretty good but might be a bit limited if you've got a large screen. I've measured it up and i reckon you can probably get something like the sammy 226bw 22'' on it but might struggle with setting a 24'' back into the recess on the left

also the space for the tower isn't great 52cm high x25cm wide although you could just not put the draw in to get about an extra 15cm height

Fits my NZXT Hush on the tray below the desk no problem, got a 22" widescreen monitor and a 26" HDTV perched on either end and its ideal some good work space!

Only installed the one tray for the PC Tower with the Sky + box in the small one above

All I want is a basic desk, just needs to be quite long for X2 monitors doesnt need to have any fancy stuff on it. Would like a nice finish it it tho. Just like Mr. Brightside's although his doesnt look that stable, I could be wrong tho.

I can stand on it and although I haven't I reckon it would take me jumping on it no problem. Can you see in the photo the box section steel running all the way around underneath the wood surface?

Yer kinda mate, I cant see yours on the Ikea site tho?!

I really like the Mikael desk, but would like it in the Jonas oak veneer which they dont do.
