Hi,

In a desperate attempt to get my TV safely away from my one year olds mitts I was eyeing up the Ikea Besta cabinet with optional mount.

Looking at the reviews for said mount on Ikea's website there are few that state using the swivel feature which I would need causes the TV to tilt.
I certainly dont want to buy the combination, assemble it and find this is the case for me too so I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this or not?

My TV is 55" and a couple of years old, its a Philips Ambilight jobby and quite heavy so also wondering how the bracket fairs with larger TVs?

Before anyone says it. I cant mount to the wall, the TV is in a recess next to a chimney breast and there is a light fitting above it hence why I was looking at this cabinet and mount combination.

Thanks

No, I did not, I've just had a look back on the Ikea site and when I fitted it I excluded the horizontal piece that enables the swivel.

The Besta tv stand weighs 24kg excluding any doors / shelves etc, so I think it would be OK by the time you've added those bits + any a/v devices etc.

Great thanks for the info and for checking

If anyone has any comments on the swivel issues before I take the plunge I would appreciate it
