Ikea markus replacement?

Hi guys,

I'm looking for a replacement for my markus seat with something more comfortable and reclining option?
any recommendation, prefer cloth and not leather or black lol

I hate the cushioning on the Markus chair, I use a bonmedico Comfort cushion with mine since a week after I got it as it was giving me lower back issues. Also its started to creak aswell which is annoying being only a year or so old.

The gaming chairs are ok but I hate the "race" look of them plus does not fit in well with the rest of the room which is why I went for the Markus in the first place as it was simple. I got an M6 for racing around in lol

Mine bloody stopped reclining last night, need check the lever when I get home. Had a mind of its own and doesn’t click into position

I know the op has already bought a chair but a relatively inexpensive alternative is the Autonomous ergo chair 2. I bought one to replace an IKEA Markus and it’s night and day better. I’d recommend for someone in the market that doesn’t want to spend HM money but wants something similar.

No there not as well built as a HM but for £300ish I haven’t seen anything better for a brand new chair.

The Markus is just overrated IMO. The seat padding just didn’t hold up and compressed to nothing very quickly, it lacked lower back support and wasn’t adjustable. Mine was only a couple of years old.

I ended up getting one of the autonomous sit stand desks too which is decent for the money.

I was the OP until the thread got overtaken.....but I still have the crappy Markus one.

I just watched a review on the Autonomous ergo chair 2, looks good but noises are annoying if you get them after 6 months...

On offer on the official website, 15 day trail looks interesting. Did you buy from there, whats delivery like?

I nearly bought an Aeron on a whim but after looking at many saying they couldn't adapt I've sort of whittled it down to between a Haworth Zody or a Steelcase Please V2.
I'm thinking Zody as its meant to be an all rounder and spares are plentiful.

Shame they only selling the boring black Zody one over here, love the smoke version!
