So... which one of these do you think would be better? I hear latex is VERY good for sleeping, and has a very high rating on numerous sleeping websites such as this one http://sleeplikethedead.com/bed-matt...view-home.html.

I want something firm but with some give to it, suitable for long sleeps and lie-ins, as well as anything else it's subjected to.

I'm sleeping rubbish at the moment on my current cruddy mattress so any feedback or reccommendations on these would be much appreciated. I need to sleep!

I have a pocket sprung sultan of some description (cant remember which!) its very comfortable for me, but it might not be for you. Best to pop in and try for yourself. Just remember that Ikea mattresses are weird sizes compared to the norm so make sure it fits your bed!

I have a pocket sprung Ikea mattress, whatever was top of the range about 7 years ago. One thing I would say is to make sure you get a mattress topper to go with it as it makes such a difference (I don;t have one but my parent's spare bed does). Looks like they now have an integrated mattress though so maybe no need.

Their pocket sprung mattresses give very good support but without a topper can be a bit firm. I don't mind it but Mrs N would prefer something a bit softer.

Thing is about a topper though, you can get a new one when it gets a bit knackered.

I had a foamy mattress from IKEA a while back, which developed a well in the middle (eh, I was single and stuck to the same spot). Now I have a firmish pocket sprung mattress - and while it's comfy I think I may well get a topper for the winter - as while comfort++ it'd also be heat++ for me to have so much squishiness during the warmer nights...

Be sure to check the dimensions as IKEA mattresses are different sizes to standard UK I believe. They didn't have anything to fit a standard double bed frame when I bought a mattress.

Ikea's "Double" is 140cm by 200cm. A UK "Double" is 135cm by 190cm. So an IKEA mattress will be a bit of a squeeze into a UK frame. Fitted sheets are just-about-OK though can be tight to get on.
