IL2 + Expansions - Active community??

Ive been wanting to get an online plane game for a while and am just about to purchase this with its expansions.

Before I do I just wanted to know if it has an active community still playing?

And how do you find online players for it?

Im going to have a look for it tonight in the shops, if not ill order it. Going for 14.99 at the moment online with all expansions.

Sounds good. Couldnt find it in the shop and they wanted £35 if I ordered it so I ordered online for £14.99.

Its the collecters edition so it has the expansion games as well.

4.04 (FB+ACE+PF) is still going strong, but don't be surprised if you get version mismatch on a number of servers, both if you are using 4.04 or 4.05. You can also get a 'switch' app to swap between them at the click of a button.

I wish you had said this before I bought the game. So what am I going to have to do to get it up and running?

Once you have found it, it really isn't difficult to deal with.. like I say, it seems about half the servers do have 4.05, and half don't, thus the need for a switch app.

It's another expansion that comes in the form of a patch file, google for il2 4.05.

And like all patches, because you are using FB+ACE+PF make sure you patch with the 'm' patches.. these are for merged installs, the ones without the m are for Pacific Fighters standalone installs.
