iLife '08 bundled with..?

Howdy,

Could someone clarify this for me, on all new macs on the Apple store, it tells you that the Mac's come bundled with iLife '08. I'd just like to know, does this come bundled with the Mac or with OS X?

So if you bought OS X Leopard, would you get iLife on that? Or would you have to buy iLife '08 seperate? Or buying a new Mac would give you OS X and iLife '08?

I'll be gettinga new Mac Pro when the Penryns are introduced, and I would like iLife 08, so dont want to buy that if it will come with my Mac Pro.

Comes with the mac, not OS X.

All you get is iTunes with OS X.

Yes, it comes with the Mac, on the install DVDs.

Na not complaining at all, just dont want to have two copies.. that would be a waste wouldn't it. I don't want it for my MacBook Pro, just my Mac Pro

Imagine if there was 1 copy left and I bought it for my MacBook Pro and never used it, and then you went there to buy it and its was out of stock, you would be gutted wouldn't you, well thats not going to happen now cos I will get it with my Mac Pro, so you can sleep easy

Right, isn't Life 06 (not 08) included with Leopard OS X? Cos I will get Leopard OS X for my MacBook Pro.

Nothing is included on a Leopard retail DVD.

Only the install discs that comes with new Macs have iLife 06/08 on them.

If you bought a Mac a few months ago then you've got iLife 06 on your install DVDs, otherwise all new Macs are bundled with iLife 08.

If you buy a copy of Leopard you do not get any version of iLife included with it. If you do a clean installation of Leopard then to get iLife you need to install it seperately - you can either do this from a retail copy, or from the disk that came with a recent Mac (even if the disk also includes an older version of Mac OS X)

If you have an older Mac with iLife 06 (or older) and without Leopard, then you can buy Leopard and reinstall the version of iLife you have, but if you want to use both Leopard and iLife 08 then you need to buy both of them.

Thanks...is it worthy to upgrade to iLife 08? ...mainly for photos.

I would say the new iPhoto is a step back from the 06 version, most of its features have been hidden or removed. Might not be worth getting 08 if you just want it for iPhoto.
