Now its been out a little bit, do you guys agree with a lot of the comments on other forums and reviews that its very good but also pretty buggy right now?
Apple do seem to be starting a trend of releasing stuff before its ready - I'm happy to wait a bit for this one though if thats the case (unlike my need to get an iphone 3g straight away )
what do you use the mac pro for out of interest? i've always found them hard to justify since my little macbook can run like everything at once without a hiccup (4gb of ram but still... a macbook) - right now photoshop, illustrator and indesign are open and it is not an issue
gonna get the new imac when it emerges and i think that'll be really powerful in comparison, but a mac pro - how do you use the power? (or do you maybe just want the power?)
and how many thousands of pounds is that going to be? ok i get the VAT off and its tax deductible but still... the iMac is gonna be in the region of a grand i think...
you see, if you're gonna say to me one and a half, i'd maybe consider it, but i know they're probably over 2, its just too damn much especially when i said that my macbook copes perfectly well with the stuff i do...
EDIT: just had a look at the current offerings and the processing power is superb but everything else is a bit pap...
Radeon 2600 XT / 8800 GT graphics? the PC i bought before my mac (so well over 2 years ago) was better than that... the ram would need to be upgraded after purchase due to the ridiculous margins they put on, same with the hard drives...
am i missing the point? i KNOW how powerful mac pros are but i don't see why they're so powerful on paper
